Why coaching?

Coaching will give you a powerful boost!  It helps you zero in on what you want to change or achieve, and how to do it.  You’ll gain insights into your motivations and learn how to use them more effectively.  Say goodbye to shame and failure.  Instead, learn to trust yourself, care for yourself, and be your own best supporter.  No more waiting for others to take charge, it’s your time.

When you find the right way for you, change is easier.

What is coaching?

Coaching is a partnership.  It’s me working with you to nurture your personal and professional development.  It’s driven by you – you set the agenda and what we are going to achieve.

We’ll schedule regular conversations in person (in Auckland), or by phone/video.  I‘ll ask you all sorts of questions to explore what you want to focus on, what your motivations are.  We’ll use exercises like visualisations, values mapping, structured planning, using your imagination, lots of questions and ideation.  We’ll identify what obstacles are in your way, and together we’ll create a simple plan of easily actionable steps to help you reach your goals.

Satisfaction is the result of many tiny steps and achievements.   Coaching will help you minimise those unhelpful habits, and establish better actions that you are proud of and fuel your motivation even more.

Does coaching work?

If you Google “Who has a coach?”, you’ll find the names of many successful individuals who credit coaching for their achievements.  I’ve seen the transformative power of coaching in my own life, as well as in the lives of my friends and clients.

Coaching is all about empowerment. It equips you with tools to use for the rest of your life.  It will give you hope for change, and teach you to trust your own inner wisdom, and take responsibility for your actions.  These skills are lifelong assets.

According to a study by the International Coaching Federation, clients reported significant increases in confidence, communication skills, and time management abilities as a result of coaching.  The Huff Post

What is the difference between coaching, therapy, counselling and mentoring?

Coaching, therapy, counselling, and mentoring each serve unique purposes, and cater to different needs, making them valuable resources at various stages in your life.

Therapy and counseling aim to address and resolve emotional pain or difficulties through discussions and analysis.  These challenges often stem from past experiences that may hinder a person’s ability to function effectively in the present.  Difficulties often arise from things that have happened in the past and might be hampering someone from functioning healthily in the present.

A mentor offers expert guidance and wisdom in a specific field, drawing from their own knowledge and experience.

Coaches focuses on facilitating personal and professional growth through self-directed change.  They specialize in behavior change and motivation, empowering individuals to develop their own expertise and take proactive steps.  Coaching looks to the future, and how to start forming it today.

“Nicole’s ability to listen without judgement has helped me to make some very difficult decisions, while entering crossroads in my life.  She did not try to fix me, or make decisions for me.  Instead she took what I was struggling with and assisted me to see how these situations were a potential for my own personal growth”
